Sick of the sugar hangover?

We know sugar isn’t good for us. (Think fatigue, potential tumor growth, and a higher heart disease risk among seemingly healthy people.2-4) We’re all trying our best to cut down on or eliminate sources of refined sugar and artificial sweeteners.

Sugar seems natural enough: It’s a simple carbohydrate made up of fructose and glucose. These two simple sugars join to create sucrose. While sucrose is found naturally in plants and fruits, the refining process required to make granulated sugar (including cane, raw, or brown sugar) is what makes it bad for consumption.

And, sugar can cause a hangover -- resulting in the same symptoms you’d expect from drinking too much alcohol, like a foggy mind and mood swings. When too much sugar is ingested, the opportunistic candida yeast floods your body with a toxic byproduct called acetaldehyde. This produces more hangover-like symptoms. It’s important to note that most natural sweeteners still feed candida, which could destroy your immune system and potentially create more uncontrollable sugar cravings.5

But even without sugar, life can still be sweet. You might especially appreciate this if you’re a diabetic. Saying goodbye to sugar becomes easy when you’re using the right sugar substitute: Lakanto is an all-natural, sugarless plant sweetener so tasty you’re not likely to miss the sugary foods you once craved.

Here’s a closer look at what makes Lakanto Sweetener so special:

  • Authentically sweet taste. Reviewers agree that, compared to sugar, Lakanto is delicious. Even those who don’t like the flavor of stevia often prefer this.
  • Friendly to diabetics. Zero-glycemic means this doesn’t raise blood sugar or insulin.1 It may actually decrease blood sugar and cholesterol levels.6
  • Helps increase energy. It’s nicknamed the “longevity fruit” for good reason. Lakanto may reduce fatigue, while extending exercise duration.7
  • Natural and safe. Monk fruit, Lakanto’s signature ingredient, is one of the few no- and low-calorie sweeteners deemed GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) for everyone.
  • Promotes weight maintenance. Your body breaks this down much differently than sugar. Its active compounds, mogrosides, may even block fat accumulation.8
  • Supports oral health. It may interrupt the growth of harmful bacteria linked to periodontal disease, helping balance the mouth microbiome and gut health.9
  • Very versatile. Use it to sweeten just about anything: tea, coffee, kefir, fruit, dessert, smoothies, and more. Or, use it as a one-to-one swap for cooking and baking.

Named after the Buddhist monks who first discovered it, monk fruit is what makes Lakanto different. Unlike most fruits with sweetness coming from fructose, Lakanto is derived from monk fruit, or luo han guo, extract and is specially fermented in Japan. Monk fruit, therapeutically used in Eastern medicine, contains natural mogrosides (antioxidants) that produce a sweetness 300-times that of sugar.

All with zero chemical aftertaste and zero calories.

Have your cake and eat it too

At Body Ecology, we recommend eliminating sugar until you’ve healed candida or have seen improvement in other areas of your health. We also recommend avoiding it as much as possible in order to stay healthy and prevent aging.

But if we’ve seen it once, we’ve seen it a thousand times. Once you try Lakanto, you’re probably going to fall in love with it. And when you do, there’ll be no reason to go back to the sweet stuff linked to such harmful health effects.2-4

Satisfying to your sweet tooth, Lakanto’s also guilt-free. Try your hand at one of our favorite sugarless Body Ecology dessert recipes if you need inspiration. Bon appétit.
